Cinco de Mayo Mexican Party Dessert Spread

Hola! Happy Cinco de Mayo!

What's better than a mexican taco bar with all the fixins?!
A mexican taco bar with all the fixins plus dessert! ;)

I recently did a dessert spread for a large mexican taco bar party. I have only made flan once and that about sums up my mexican dessert experience. I couldn't even name more than 2 types of mexican desserts (flan and mexican wedding cookies...haha)
So.....this was an adventure for me. And it was awesome.

I came up with some ideas for the hostess to choose from:
Flan Shots
Sopapilla Cheesecake Bars
Peanut Butter Dulce de Leche Bars
Mexican Wedding Cookies
Tres Leches Cupcakes with Dulce de Leche Frosting
Mexican Chocolate Cake

And so she said. "yes"
So, I did them all.

She had also bought customized shot glasses as party favors and wanted to put a dessert in them. None of the desserts could easily be put in a shot glass since it was the tall skinny kind so I ended up making a Lime Slush Shooter. I was originally going to use a semi-melted Lime Paleta as the shooter but it was not as "slushy" as I thought it would be so I ended up making the Lime Slushie.

Anyway.....

These are the pictures from the whole dessert spread.
I will be posting each of the dessert recipes and tutorials on it's own.

The event was held at a cooking school! Yeah! Pretty cool.
The set up was awesome because they had any tool you could ever want for serving or making food. It was great. Huge refrigerators. Spacious counter tops. Drawers and drawers of kitchen paraphernalia. I was in heaven.

Everyone was enjoying themselves quite thoroughly as you can see.

This was the perfect finish to an amazingly delicious dinner.
I'm a fan. I will definitely be making these recipes again.

Stay tuned for the individual desserts!
